Eat Smart, Move More, Prevent Diabetes is a CDC recognized, 12-month diabetes prevention program based on strategies proven to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes.

North Carolinians only pay $30 and receive ALL $30 back for meeting attendance and tracking requirements (valued at $430).

Classes are available ONLINE.

 

ONLINE classes are held using GoToTraining and are fully accessible on a desktop, laptop, smartphone, and tablet. Classes are conducted in an interactive format by a live, trained lifestyle coach. The format of the classes allows you to interact with your instructor and classmates. You will work through challenges together as a group and celebrate each other’s successes. Lunchtime and evening classes are available.

Am I Eligible?

In order to be eligible to participate in a Diabetes Prevention Program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have both of the following:
    • No previous diagnosis of diabetes
    • Body Mass Index (BMI) over 25 (or 23 if of Asian descent)
  • AND one of the following:
    • History of gestational diabetes OR,
    • Score of 5 or higher on the Risk Test OR,
    • Blood glucose testing
      • A1C between 5.7 – 6.4
      • Fasting glucose between 100-125
